Vegetarian meals leave you feeling more energized than traditional meat, fish and dairy, yet they can be mouth watering as well as nourishing. Tabouleh is made with three sprouted beans and a cracked wheat product known as bulghar. It is a superior summer salad meal, easily carried to work in a plastic container and eaten right from the pack. A favorite, Rice Salad, made with mung beansprouts is also a coolly refreshing summer meal. The beansprouts and the rice combine to make a complete, easy to eat protein.

Pizza is a favorite kids meal, and beansprouts add crisply delicious protein to the old stand-by. Tofu is a high protein "cheese" made from the milk of the soy bean. It combines with sprouts in many of our favorite recipes, though the sprouts, in combination with grains, are a complete protein in themselves.

Doctors today are telling us to eat less meat and dairy. What other ways can we get our protein? We can't eat fish all the time. Beans and grains are a time-honored way to get plenty of the complete amino acid protein complex, with low fat, high fiber and no cholesterol. Sprouts: Alfalfa, Mungbean, Baby Soy, Pea Shoots and Munchin' Mix, are beans that have been sprouted and are a wonderful option for a variety of vegetarian meals. Here are some to try.
